QLD RSPCA Flood Recovery Appeal at The Basement tonight 29/1/11.

ALICE THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD GLASS 12:00 – till close
TORTURED 11:15-11:45
CHUD – 10:30-11:00
NA MAZA – 9:45-10:15
FROSTBITE – 9:00-9:30
On the night, there will be different charity activities being arranged by the presenters to make the night fun, aswell as showing that the Canberra local live scene do support others in need, which in this case is the animals of Southern QLD which have lost their shelters and safegaurds.

Like so many other areas of Queensland, the RSPCA Qld Shelter located in the Western suburbs of Brisbane) was severely damaged by the recent floods causing it to cease operations whilst recovery continues.

The RSPCA is exempt from disaster relief funds offered to other charities that assist human needs. This makes the RSPCA entirely reliant on the generosity of the Australian (and International!) community to help them get back to being fully operational so they can open their doors and continue to help the 42,000 animals who rely on them each year.

Chill out big time, enjoy the atmosphere and have some easy fun at aquaCulture Nights’ grand finale event at Dickson Pool: Saturday 6-8pm, normal admission fees: loud board shorts and beach scene with funky music by the Fun Machine, African drumming by Charlie Coker, circus workshop run by Cam and Kon, Zumba dancing, coconut pina coladas and $3 sausage sizzle raising funds for Companion House (who support refugee groups and survivors of torture and trauma). Corner of Cowper & Antill Streets, free parking all around (the shopping centre’s carpark is the best) plus the bus stops outside (936, 937 and 939 from Civic).
