Quote: Walk for Climate Change

MONDAY 7 SEPTEMBER
TIME: 7:30 am unquote.

“Walk for Climate Change”? Does this mean you are in favour of climate change?

“This national icon supports over 50,000 jobs and contributes $5.6b to our economy”

Maybe if they said ‘we guess that over the years it has contributed $5.6B to our economy’ it would be believable.

$5.6B/year……bollocks!

Walk for Climate Change

MONDAY 7 SEPTEMBER
TIME: 7:30 am

VENUE: Meet on the North side of the Commonwealth Ave Bridge for a walk to Parliament House

WEAR: Red

Did you know that on Wednesday the Aust Gov released a report that scientifically proves that it’s emissions target of 450ppm will kill the Great Barrier Reef?

Within 25yrs the Great Barrier Reef will no longer exist as a reef – it will not support coral or reef habitats.

This national icon supports over 50,000 jobs and contributes $5.6b to our economy.

We must tell the Government they must change their emissions target to 350ppm if we have any hope of saving this wonderful ecosystem.

These walks will occur during the first week of every month until the Copenhagen Conference in December. Growing in numbers each month, we will show the government how concerned the residents of Canberra are about climate change.

This walk is part of a campaign, in the lead up to the Copenhagen Conference of Parties, to push for a just international agreement to tackle the growing problem of climate change.
