We’ve taken some of the photos from today and mixed them in with Rafe Morris’ song “Cummon Austraya”.

(Note: people on bicycles were not in favour of the Convoy of No Confidence)

Good times.

Also if you’d like a giggle check out Alan Jones increasing detachment from reality over why no-one turned up.

Somewhat excitingly the video is up to number 86 for most viewed music video in australia this week:

(Made Number 7 for wednesday too!)

I think these poor people, the truckers and and their supporters, need counseling. Their collective confusion over a range of issues, lack of focus and general anger about everything signals deeper personal depressions. A good anti-depressant, cognitive behavioral therapy and anger management might do the trick.

I wish Tony would stop licking his lips like the evil snake in snuggle pot and cuddle pie

ref: photo by Lachlan – lonely in a desolate scape… he thought he had friends

What a waste of time – all swing and absolutely no ding.

Alan Jones? Wasn’t he the chap who was arrested in a public lavatory in London’s West End, and charged with two counts of outraging public decency, but was later granted bail and charges were dropped?

I think he was.

Infltratrated?, man you just sign up

I realise I could just sign up any time I iked, but I don’t think I could keep up the level of delusion required to win the trust of a LaRoucher, nor have the patience to listen to a Sovereign Citizen’s interpretation of the Constitution and High Court decisions for long enough that they think I supported the idea.

The National Library are looking for donations of materials (Flyers, pamphlets, stickers, ephemera, documentation, etc) related to the Convoy.

Request on Facebook

How to donate

So, if anyone has successfully infiltrated Just Grounds forum and can convince them to part with flyers about reptoids, the Queen-Hitler-Vegan connection, the Australian Sovereign Citizen movement, the Lyndon LaRouche Movement, as well as the actual extra-Constitutional petition of demand, feel free to donate it to the Collection.
Getting the duty Librarian to believe you might be another problem, though.

I love this comment on the their site:

“Attention Main Stream Media – you are welcome to use photos from this discussion and comments from our members who are “roving reporters” at the Rally.

The Just Grounds management team asks you to respect the privacy of these members and to refer to them by their first name only.”

So you want to shout and make demands about the fall of the government but you’re to cowardly to put your names to it.

Just between you and me I wouldn’t be making that sort of criticism from behind an anonymous moniker.

I was personally deeply disappointed with the CONC. I thought finally something exciting may have come to my dreary monday morning commute and I might get the buzz of frustration that a Sydneysider might feel getting to work in gridlock each morning. Alas, the #7 had an almost record run into Belco this morning…it actually arrived ahead of time!

…..Love Tony looking at the watch……

he can’t wait to get out of there.

It will be a sad day for the rabble-aroused when Jonesy kicks the bucket. They might have to install Andrew Bolt as the next pin-up boy for the *Average australians*.

A salute to Rafe Morris, you had me loving this country (maybe due to the 8 wines I have had). I have no illusions about that (excuse me moderator) F##### B###### Alan Jones. I am trying to word a essay to Counterpoint on Political Correctness and how they have got it arse about, but due to the aforementioned wines I don’t think this is posible.

Country roads, take me home
To the place where I belong:
Bush Australia, mountain mamma,
Take me home, country roads.
(John Denver 1971)

“Convoy” was their theme song on the way here, and this more somber tune is for the way home.

Well, the convoy organisers are declaring victory: http://justgroundsonline.com/forum/topics/the-rally-convoy-of-no-confidence?id=3535428%3ATopic%3A269825&page=1#comments

They weren’t able to assemble anything resembling a crowd for their photos though.

Another awesome thread from the JustGrounds folk! Personal highlights include:

– Apparent lack of knowledge of how the internet works, asking the media to respect their members’ privacy by only publishing first names if quoting from their forum posts. Maybe they’ve finally realised that making all of their members’ full names publicly available might not have been a great idea?

– Hey, it’s RiotACT alumnus Samuel Gordon-Stewart! Should have known he’d be interested in anything with a talkback radio theme.

– No photos of the Hitler/Queen/Darwin info booth… disappointing.

– At least one of the members had the sense to acknowledge that there were no trucks held up by police at the border.

My favourite nugget, though: the trucks parked on the median around State Circle were given parking tickets!

i’d say that many cyclists would have been more of a pain to avoid than the trucks.

There seem to be more individual cyclists than trucks/cars/vans 🙂
