If you think that moving into a townhouse means losing space, it might be time to think again.

In a first for a new development in Canberra, McGrath Projects is introducing the FlexiSpace at Tempus – the Turner Copperstones, a curated collection of luxury three and four-bedroom townhomes designed without compromise.

Located in Canberra’s leafy North, this unique development is perfect for those seeking inner-city living combined with the quiet character of the Canberra landscape in one of the capital’s original suburbs.

Each one of the crafted residences feature an over-sized garage with internal access. Some garages are up to 80 square metres, meaning there’s enough space for four cars. The Tempus FlexiSpace garage features windows for natural light and ventilation with fully lined walls and ceilings, making the space feel more like a living area rather than a space for cars.

This innovative design makes way for a creative re-use of the traditional garage, adding enormous additional value to each residence. A FlexiSpace can be used as an art or exercise studio, gym, home office, rumpus room, extra bedroom or even a show room for your pride and joy.

“New developments are normally priced per square metre and the garage is an addition. With the FlexiSpace, purchasers are effectively getting an extra room without additional cost,” according to Craig Chapman from McGrath Projects.

This ingenious design can only be found at Tempus Turner.

Featuring classic architecture and modern, timeless interiors, Tempus draws inspiration from the iconic New York Brownstones. Tempus also represents the introduction of the terrace to the Canberra housing market, similar to the much-loved examples of terrace housing in London or New York.

However, with Tempus, the façades are purposefully not ornamented with decoration. Instead, they are classically proportioned and feature enduring materials such as face-brick and copper cladding. No expense has been spared with design, layout and finishes.

“The development is ideally suited to aspirational buyers who want the best of everything, including design and location. Solid concrete construction throughout and between each residence offers high-level thermal and acoustic qualities,” Craig said.

The townhomes are energy efficient with double glazing, ducted heating and cooling, and an average EER 7.

Tempus is Latin for ‘time’ and Tempus Turner pays homage to the suburb’s natural elements, protecting the existing mature landscaping, featuring 60-year-old trees and established hedging, most of which will remain protected. Forbes Street is graced with an avenue of mature oaks forming a natural canopy, while David Street offers views to Black Mountain in one direction and Mount Majura in the other.

The Tempus display suite is open by appointment at Forbes Street, Turner. Townhomes start at $1 million to $1.6 million.
