The pieces have come together for Canberra’s first LEGO store which will open in the Canberra Centre in the next few months.
The popular stores are renowned for their imaginative shopfronts, with each store custom-built to include tributes to the increasing creativity associated with the iconic plastic blocks.
The Canberra store is likely to feature a large, wall-mounted mosaic of a local landmark, as well as its pick-a-brick wall and build-a-mini-figure tower.
A three-dimensional, wall-mounted digital screen can also scan almost any LEGO boxed set so customers can watch it come to life in-store.
So-called ‘brick specialists’ will also help LEGO fans of all ages select the perfect set or special gift for family or friends. They will also keep the floor free from LEGO pieces that have been the bane of many bare feet.
Brought to Australia by Alquemie Group, its executive chairman Richard Facioni said Canberra’s first official LEGO store will offer one of the country’s widest selections of LEGO sets, including limited editions, a portfolio of play experiences, activities and exclusive in-store events.
“With one of the most loyal and growing communities of brick fans in the country, Canberra has been on our radar for some time as an ideal venue for a new LEGO-certified store,” Mr Facioni said.
“We look forward to proudly unveiling an inspiring new retail experience for Canberra which showcases the creative potential of the world-famous LEGO brick.”
Other LEGO-certified stores are located in New York, London, Shanghai, Denmark, Dubai, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland.
