The ABC is reporting that one of the Stanhope Government’s own backbenchers, Karin Macdonald, has broken ranks over the way the school closures were arrived at.
The Labor politician is part of an vocal rally outside the ALP’s Territory conference. Parents say they will not back down in their campaign to save the schools earmarked for closure.
They have the support of Labor backbencher Karin McDonald, who says the Government has failed to consult with the entire party on its plan.
The real question is whether she’ll vote with the Greens and Liberals to actually do something about it.
