National Folk Festival reviews

A few days ago i submitted a short little review of the Folk Festival which got bundled with one from Pandy and posted here.

Well after that I decided that my review was crap (being bundled with Pandy’s whinge didn’t improve it) and really didn’t express how much fun the folky was so went looking for some other reviews. And here is what I’ve found so far;

A short little article from ABC Online.
A not terrible puff piece in the Crimes.
A good personal review with images that actually reviews some of the performances over on Fourstrings.
And another personal review/overview at thecanberracook.

As yet I haven’t found a good one up on the places I would have expect to find one, namely here (I’d like to see one by the RiotACT reveiwer Riot Records), Loadedog or Justbands but if you do find a good review place post a link below or write one yourself and post it below.

Honestly, I’d write a review of the Folk Festival if I did more than just see Dahahoo’s last ever show at the NFF (which was very good, but I’m saving my review for their last show at the Phoenix Bootlegs on the 31st of March). I saw a slice of Mikelangelo and The Black Sea Gentlemen on friday night, but the room was so packed out that a ton of people, Mikelangelo included, were complaining. If the Folk festival was trying to give me a nice setting to hang out with my friends in, by that I mean a nice site to walk around, then it succeeded whole-heartedly.

PS: I hear Dahahoo are taking some time off and trying some new vocalists and working out what fits after the 31t of March.

My whinge was about the ticket booth. Some agreed.
