ABC Online brings news that Newcastle reject Dane Tilse has been rescued from the scrapheap, brought on by his booze fueled rampage through a uni residence, by the Canberra Raiders.

Personally I find that the best people you’ll ever have work for you are the ones you take off the scrapheap. But you do have to invest a lot of time and effort in accentuating their positives and reducing the negatives.

Former Australian junior representative (with Todd Carney).

Was profiled in one of the rugby league magazines (before the scandal) as being ‘one to watch’.

The kid was a scapegoat for the whole incident. But they weren’t going to sack any of the ‘names’ also involved…

Noone in Canterbury lost their jobs after the Coffs fiasco.

Give the kid a chance I say!

OK Ralph, what do you think is good about it?

Is it a good thing?

Yes.

He hasn’t been selected for anything yet, he can’t play until next year.

Matt Elliot going on recent results seems to have a bit of nous for knowing who’s worth it as a player and who’s not so it could be a good buy for the club.

As for the Bathurst incident, it was definitely stupid but it might also be suggested that he as an individual took the fall for a number of players including senior players in the squad who should have known far better.

Is it a good thing???
Isuppose you have to consider asking all the LOCAL young hopefuls that he has been selected in front of.
As for his behaviour. Footballers booze willing girls poor supervision. Surely Newcastle had a duty of care for their young players.
