Canberra singer-songwriter Lisa Richards is bringing a host of musical guests along to her Saturday afternoon show at Smith’s Alternative. Expect to hear tracks from her recent album I Got a Story at this lovingly named “songs from the music room” concert.
The ANU Laptop Ensemble is set to make its triumphant return to the public sphere this weekend. Self-described as “a crucible of catastrophic computation, messy musicality and algorithmic art”, the group comprises both music and computer science students, emphasising making music from left-of-centre technological means. Head along with an open mind and you’ll likely experience one of your most inspiring gigs of the year. Supported by ex-Canberran sound artist Ben Swift.
sideway’s weekly band night continues this week with a lineup featuring Slowbeard, Wesley & The Crushers, and Spaceman Africa The Musical.
