Yesterday we reported on the outrage amongst business leaders and their Liberal lackeys that a community gathering in the form of the Raiders game included political views they disagree with, in support of the only organisation willing to pay to sponsor the team, the CFMEU.
Today the Canberra Times informs us that the Murdoch owned National Rugby League has expressed its displeasure with the Raiders, who have promised it won’t happen again.
It was probably unwise to unleash this tactic while Rupert was in the country.
In any event the talk of “no political messages at community events” makes it very clear that the bread and circuses are intended to quieten the masses, not rev them up.
We can only hope that exposure to contrary views didn’t do lasting damage to local libs, used to only hearing things they agree with.
