Any form of terrorism, whether its threats by phone and letter, innocuous white powder, invading Iraq or suicide bombs, is bloody unacceptable.

Nutters and dickheads have allways been with us and don’t justify the suspension of civil liberties that all “anti-terror” measures boil down to.

Disruptive as it may be white powder hoaxes aren’t comparable, on any scale, to suicide bombings.

so the definition of terrorism requires a body count?

a couple of nutters seemed to condemn a whole religion for quite a number of people in this country and worldwide. I know most if not all that read this site are a lot smarter than that but the unwashed booner majority aren’t.

And Wikipedia itself describes terrorism as “The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.”

Whatever skerrick of sympathy for ‘our Schapelle’ that the myopic and xenophobic Australian hadn’t destroyed with the Indonesians is now well and truly gone. As the Indonesian media has widely and quite correctly reported, terrorism in this region is not the solely the domain of Indonesian Muslims as other nations seem so apt to report.

I think it’s ironic that this nuff-nuff who is supposedly protesting against the injustices of the Indonesian system may well find themselves locked away without trial or representation for a week, released for 2 minutes, then held for a week without trial etc etc under our new ‘terror’ laws.

I think it’s piss-poor that an Australian would do this. In fact I have trouble believing that an Australian would resort to the level of the terrorists and tyrants responsible for the attrocities we see every day.
