Schappas nutters have unusual means

johnboy 1 June 2005 12

Google News have an excellent round-up of the global reaction to one of Schapelle Corby’s nutters getting biological weapons into the Indonesian Embassy.

Not the sort of thing your average nutter has lying around. Going to tinfoil hat mode you could almost wonder if this was the sort of thing any number of non-corby groups might do to spark conflict between Australia and Indonesia.

In the meantime over 20 staff at the embassy are going through a very scary quarantine.

JB: Couldn’t agree more. However, it puts some serious fear in the community involved. Can you imagine how afraid the Indonesian community are right now?

Any form of terrorism, whether its threats by phone and letter, innocuous white powder, invading Iraq or suicide bombs, is bloody unacceptable.

Nutters and dickheads have allways been with us and don’t justify the suspension of civil liberties that all “anti-terror” measures boil down to.

Disruptive as it may be white powder hoaxes aren’t comparable, on any scale, to suicide bombings.

When I was a kid in the 70s I flew all around the world with my dad who happened to be a high ranking RAAF officer. We visited beautiful places like Tehran, Tel Aviv, and numerous others.

If you recall, planes regularly were hijacked in those days and terrorism was rife. Body counts were low, however, it was the thought of being hijacked that worried everyone.

Terrorism is not about being blown up, its about the fear of being blown up. It is designed to disrupt society through fear.

so the definition of terrorism requires a body count?

a couple of nutters seemed to condemn a whole religion for quite a number of people in this country and worldwide. I know most if not all that read this site are a lot smarter than that but the unwashed booner majority aren’t.

And Wikipedia itself describes terrorism as “The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.”

Sounds exactly like what happened to me

One nutter condemns the whole group?

As to Australian “terrorists”? Count the headstones.

Whatever skerrick of sympathy for ‘our Schapelle’ that the myopic and xenophobic Australian hadn’t destroyed with the Indonesians is now well and truly gone. As the Indonesian media has widely and quite correctly reported, terrorism in this region is not the solely the domain of Indonesian Muslims as other nations seem so apt to report.

The idiots os this nation have now seen us portrayed at a new low. Well done twit

Totally agree Nik. Its about time the media actually started reprting the news as it really is, rather than being sanctimonious pricks.

It is Terrorism.

I think it’s ironic that this nuff-nuff who is supposedly protesting against the injustices of the Indonesian system may well find themselves locked away without trial or representation for a week, released for 2 minutes, then held for a week without trial etc etc under our new ‘terror’ laws.

Was described as a Bacteria. Hopefully someones old footy sock full of tinea. I would prefer this than to think that there are too many nutters who have access to anything more serious.

Regardless, Howard looked sh*t-scared on the news. And to think, all the hard work he did with Australian Taxpayers dollars after the tsunami may all be for nothing…

I think it’s piss-poor that an Australian would do this. In fact I have trouble believing that an Australian would resort to the level of the terrorists and tyrants responsible for the attrocities we see every day.

I’m just amazed people in the media aren’t calling this what it realy is – Terrorism.

One has to wonder….

And the question should not be why it happened, but how it could happen.

We have seen massive amounts of money put into security to ensure that planes aren’t highjacked, government buildings aren’t ramraided by vehicles filled with explosives, and all sorts of other security measures, and yet, someone can still manage to get a bag full of whatever it may be into an embassy.

Lets hope it isn’t anthrax or we may have some very scary times ahead.

Up to 50 in isolation now…

and there goes your diplomatic immunity.
