If you thought prostitution was confined to the light industiral parts of the city you need to check out NowUC’s latest eye-popper.

A woman living by herself next door to the prostitute was harassed by one of the prostitutes’ clients who had mistaken her place for the sex worker’s.

A red light flashing above the door of her flat was installed to identify the residence for her clients and prevent strange men knocking on the doors of the other residents.

As long as sex workers choose to work alone they can operate from any location in the ACT, according to the Prostitution Act 1992.

Owner-operators rejoice?

New Jerusalem…oops, the Amsterdam of the southern hemisphere!

Any body care to tour Canberra looking for this red light so they can erect (no pun intended) a sign saying “Canberra’s Red Light District”?
If we get enough of these red lights going, we could have a new tourist drive, filled with many satisfied tourists.

Those people they interviewed sound like a bunch of busy bodies.
