Do you like dressing risque and then hiding your identity behind a tiny mask while surrounded by hundreds of people doing the same?
If so then Facebook has details of the upcoming Canberra leg of the touring Bohemian Masquerade Ball (at the Albert Hall of course).
The Bohemian Masquerade Ball is the vanguard for a whole sub-culture of junkyard heros, gentleman punks, flaneur’s, vaudeville & circus performers.
A bi-annual boutique festival recognised as a grand carnival of neo-vaudeville culture.
The Bohemian Masquerade Ball has loaded up a bus packed roof to tires with musicians, sideshow performers, whiskey and moustache wax and are hitting the road.
Their first stop out of Melbourne is our very own THE CANBERRA! Come along to The Albert Hall on September 10 for a party to end all parties, with an insanely exciting lineup including:
Mojo Juju (solo)
Lolo Lovina
Brothers Grimm
The Orphanage
La Viola Vixen/Frankie Valentine
The Barons of Tang
& Canberra’s very own faux-gypsy danger squad Mr. Fibby, as well as circus sideshow lunatics from here and abroad. The Bohemian Masquerade Ball is a wonderful excuse to frock up, put on a mask and come and enjoy some of the finest bands from around Australia!
Tickets are $26 from Smiths Alternative Bookshop (76 Alinga St) and Landspeed Records in Garema Place.
UPDATE: Tickets sold out fast, but organisers assure us that there will be tickets available at the door for those who turn up at 8pm
