If you’re lonely, single and a book lover who doesn’t want to meet weirdos on Tinder this Valentine’s Day, Kingston Library has organised blind book dates on Saturday. Yes. Dates with books.

From the Libraries ACT Facebook page:

“Waltz in to Kingston library and choose from one of our beautifully gift-wrapped books and dvds waiting for you throughout the shelves. Little clues on the tags will guide you towards the one for you, whether child or adult, lover of novels or nonfiction, romance or science and beyond. Just scan through the self-checker as normal.”

Give me a surprise library book over novelty teddy bears and love heart shaped chocolates any day (hint, hint, Mr Withers).

If you’re looking for something a little bit different to do for Valentine’s Day, High Fidelity the Musical will be playing at the ANU Arts Centre on Saturday afternoon and evening. See: http://phoenixplayers.com.au/shows/highfidelity.html for more ticketing information.
