and may I add the deserts at Pod Food in Pialligo. The chef seriously wants to be a Desert Queen.

Most restaurants the deserts are just an after thought because they have to have them, at Pod Food they are the climax of the meal. Don’t pass back the desert menu, don’t pass go…

…just indulge yourself.

Been a while since I have gone to Green Herring (and they have actually been open for service) but we have fond memories of sitting in front of the huge fireplace mid winter with the kids. The way they ruined Ginninderra Village with all the inappropriate surrounding developments has taken away the getaway atmosphere that made it special.

The Green Herring is at Gold Creek and offers an amazingly comforting experience with an 1840’s open log fire it is just beautiful. I have never had a dessert there I didn’t like. I am a confirmed Chocoholic and their Chocolate Mud Cake was magical as it was so dense but really light all at the same time.

I’m not much a warm dessert person and still prefer to eat cold/icecreamy delicious desserts in winter.

The only warm dessert I really eat are waffles. A few weeks ago I had a (free) waffle with a scoop of vanilla icecream and drizzled in chocolate at Caffe Cherry Beans (Gungahlin) as part of their dinner promotion (spend more than $20 and get a free waffle – not sure how long it is a thing) and it was delicious.

Where Koko Black is concerned, their Iced Chocolate is probably the best I’ve ever had. I’d considered a nice cold dessert for winter while sitting in the warmth inside.

The self serve ice-cream machine at the Burns Club bistro for me. My kids like dipping things in the chocolate fountain … like potatos and stuff. We don’t get out much.

good warm bread and butter pudding with salt caramel choc ice cream – but who serves something like this?

Hmm Frugii and Ricardos are my go to for sweets on any given day, but for a nice warm winter dessert I love Adore Tea.

Something about their treats whether hot or cold paired with a pot of tea is my ultimate winter warmer.
