Sprinkler malfunctions in unused Tuggeranong shop

ACT Fire & Rescue have responded to a malfunctioning sprinkler system in an unused store in a shopping centre in Anketell Street, Tuggeranong.

Crews, alerted by an automatic alarm just after 8.31am, arrived at the scene to find the sprinkler system had been set off due to a malfunction.

Firefighters stopped the flow of water and evacuated three people from the area.

Crews were this morning liaising with building management for salvage and clean up of the site.

One pumper attended the incident.
