1,200 pills in a drawer at the Tax Office

By johnboy - 20 May 2011 17

The Canberra Times has a story on one Marko Ljubic who’s been in court after being caught at work in the ATO’s Civic offices with some unusual items in his desk.

Ljubic, of Fadden, was taken into custody during an alleged drug sting when police stopped a car in Mitchell. Police said he had six clip-seal bags of white powder, believed to be cocaine, on his person at the time.

Another man, Tarek Nachouki, was also implicated in the bust and is currently facing drug trafficking and possession charges.

Officers executed a search warrant at the ATO office in Genge Street, Civic the following day.

A statement of facts tendered in court said police found three mobile phones, two SIM cards and a set of digital scales in desk drawers at his cubical.

A stash of more than 1200 pills with ”LV” stamped on them was also allegedly found in a bag hidden in a drawer.

The things young public servants get up to these days.

What’s Your opinion?

Cool……………………….is he running for the Senate? Or perhaps he’s the 5th Cabinet member for the ACT?

And though the pills were rather small, they had to count them all
Now they know how many pills it takes to fill the Albert Hall

hehe

The lovelorn emailer was from Immigration. I wonder how he’s doing these days?

Wasn’t it also the ATO that gave us the love lorn fool who e-mailed just about everyone in the public service looking for some tart he’d fallen in love with at a party?

No.

Let’s not make generalisations about departments made up of several thousand employees, or suggest that it’s the department that makes the person – rather than the other way around.

Gee, the ATO must employ some real keepers!

I have some friends working at the ATO. I must make some inquiries.

If you can get a good price let us know 😉

My one brief stint in the public service was a revelation. It coincided with my brief (and greatly regretted) flirtation with dope, and to my surprise I found that the office was the most convenient place to buy weed in all of Canberra.

Things appear to have changed in 30 odd years, but apparently not for the better.

I have some friends working at the ATO. I must make some inquiries.

If you are know to dodgy low lifes as a guy that keeps 1200 pills on hand, keeping them at work in a (relativity) secure office probably minimises your chances of being ripped of by a customer.

BimboGeek 3:25 pm 20 May 11

Clearly I’m working in the wrong office!

I can just imagine the first person who attempted to borrow his stapler…

Depending upon his access, I’ll bet there is some serious IT auditing going on there at the moment!

Keeping them in a draw at the office………………………smart or dumb? Depends on the new ‘morning tea’ time that they have there I suppose.
