The Canberra Times has a story on one Marko Ljubic who’s been in court after being caught at work in the ATO’s Civic offices with some unusual items in his desk.
Ljubic, of Fadden, was taken into custody during an alleged drug sting when police stopped a car in Mitchell. Police said he had six clip-seal bags of white powder, believed to be cocaine, on his person at the time.
Another man, Tarek Nachouki, was also implicated in the bust and is currently facing drug trafficking and possession charges.
Officers executed a search warrant at the ATO office in Genge Street, Civic the following day.
A statement of facts tendered in court said police found three mobile phones, two SIM cards and a set of digital scales in desk drawers at his cubical.
A stash of more than 1200 pills with ”LV” stamped on them was also allegedly found in a bag hidden in a drawer.
The things young public servants get up to these days.
