Six Christmas things to do this weekend

By Chester Ward - 16 December 2016 0

It was the weekend before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, because they’d all gone shopping. Sound familiar? If you’re looking for something to do this weekend other than buying and wrapping presents, you’ve come to the right place …

Christmas in the City
When: From tonight till December 24
Where: City Walk, Canberra City
ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr will light Canberra’s 20m high Christmas tree tonight as part of the celebrations to mark the annual Christmas in the City Concert. Shannon Noll, Lah-Lah and her Big Live Band and The Brindabella Chorus will take to the stage tonight, and Santa will be along as well. There will be a series of food, drinks, music, handcrafted and arts markets and entertainment in and around City Walk between now and Christmas too. Crowds are expected for the dachshund and pug races. The full schedule for Christmas in the City is here.
