Today Simon Corbell said some very nice things about businesses that are making an effort to reduce waste at the 2013 ACTSmart Sustainable Business Awards breakfast.
“The quality of entries this year has been outstanding, with some accredited sites reducing waste to landfill by up to 90% over the past year,” Mr Corbell said.
“The number of those involved in reducing waste in our region has grown steadily each year, with 664 individual sites participating in the program since it began in August 2009.
“To date more than 37,000 staff have access to the recycling program in both Canberra and Queanbeyan, and today some of these businesses will be recognised for their commitment to recycling and waste reduction.”
