Floriade will return for its 26th year in september, and today they have announced their charity partners for this year’s event.
Both charities will assist in the flowery festival by running various events and stalls in order to raise awareness about their work.
This year the partners are the Yellow Van Food Rescue Program:
“The Yellow Van Food Rescue Program connects with the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in the Canberra community every day of the year, providing nutritious and much needed food to those in need,” said Dave Burnet, director of The Yellow Van food rescue program.
Oxfam will also be partnering with Floriade:
“Oxfam is thrilled to be a part of this year’s Floriade,” said Oxfam Australia chief executive Dr Helen Szoke.
“Australia’s largest flower and garden festival is a great place for inspiring people to think about the way we grow our food, which is a key part of Oxfam’s Grow campaign to make sure everyone in the world has enough food to eat.”
