Another mugging on the mean streets of Belconnen

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses following an aggravated robbery in Belconnen last night (Sunday, November 17).

Around 11pm a man was walking along Hennessy Street when he was approached by three men.

One of the men stood in the victim’s path and asked him for a cigarette before taking his mobile phone. The men then surrounded the victim and took his backpack.

The offenders have left the scene along a footpath which runs from Hennessy Street to Howie Court, Belconnen.

Two of the men are described as Caucasian in appearance with one wearing a grey sweater and the other a black jumper.

The third man is described as African in appearance approximately 170cm (5’7”) tall and wearing a grey jacket.

Anyone who may have seen men matching the description or has knowledge which may assist police with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
