lots of places in Civic are open. I wouldn’t know if any are any good.

I thought that Breizh is closed 30 and 31 Dec (Mon Tues) this week only and they go back to regular trading from 2 Jan 2014 onwards. Would like to know where you got this information from. I am hoping to have dinner there next Tuesday!

38 espresso gets a look in tomorrow

38 had just closed unfortunately when I went past yesterday around 2 but quite a few options on the Kingston foreshore now (Max Brenner was doing a decent trade as was Morks) and most are open at least some days over the New year period. Remedy by Lonsdale St Roasters tucked away up the East Basin end near Smork in the Aurora development I believe is reopening on the 4th of Jan. Place is looking generally good now, and hopefully when Doma develop their site on the island and the Glassworks precinct and carpark are developed, those will be the finishing touches.

Those cafes in Fyshwick, in particular, that Fyshwick cafe / bakery are doing a wonderful job staying open over the Christmas break (no break for me). I can still buy a decent lunch without resorting to McCrap! 😀

Lonsdale St. Roasters 23 is open in Braddon, as is Me and Mrs Jones in Kingston. For better coffee, there’s also Penny University in Kingston, and 38 Espresso at the foreshore.
