Date night is approaching and it’s time to mix it up a little. Yes Floriade might seem the most dreaded place to go on a date, it’s full of people, kids and people. Not romantic right? Wrong..
Floriade has a heap of experiences you can use to your advantage and swing a fun date night (or day) with your wife, partner or for your second date with someone new.
Nightfest has definitely given Floriade a nighttime edge, with bars, comedians, musical acts etc. It’s become an easy option for an out of the ordinary date night.
If you are keen on going for the Nightfest option I highly recommend planning and booking ahead as it’s super popular and you could miss out, especially on the Friday or Saturday night.
Here are my suggestions:
Floriade – Passion of the Bard’ Pop up Shakespeare
If your partner is a lover of Shakespeare scenes and sonnets, grab an ice cream and head to the pop up show on Saturday, 13th of September from 10:30am-2:30pm.
Floriade Nightfest – Tom Gleeson
Check out a comedy show, laughter is the best medicine after all! Tom Gleeson is coming to Canberra and he’s performing at NightFest on the Saturday and Sunday 8:10-8:30pm.
Floriade – In Full Swing
Are you and your partner a lover of music from the 1930s and 40s? On Saturday, 4th of October check out one of Canberra’s most vibrant big bands for some contemporary funk, rock and latin songs. You may even be inspired to take your partner for swing on the dance floor!
Floriade Nightfest – Walks of Art
Grab a hot chocolate or coffee from a cart and head on a walk around some of the amazing night art from Monet’s Field of Poppies and Van Gogh’s Starry Night and Sunflowers under UV vibrancy. A feast for the eyes and maybe you can find a dark corner for a romantic kiss.
