Katy Gallagher announced today that the 2005-2006 daylight savings would be extended one week due to the Commonwealth Games.
“The one-off extension, which is in response to a request from the Victorian Government, will ensure that our times are consistent with Victoria over the games period,†she said.

In case you’re worried about the legalities of it all, we’re informed “The extension has been formally declared in accordance with the Standard Time and Summer Time Act 1972.”
