Beer Day Out is coming up this Friday and Saturday and as part of the celebration, we’ve pulled together five things you must do if you’re heading to the event.
1. Drink some of the world’s best beers
With over 30 Australian and International craft breweries you will have a lot of choice! The few listed below are specially brewed beers for Beer Day Out.
BentSpoke – Canberra based brewery are providing the following beers
On Friday: Canberra Bitter (Mid-Strength Sessional Summer IPA; 3.9%ABV – 42 IBU)
On Saturday: Canberra Draught (Euro-Style lager, clean crisp, pintable. It comes with the tagline “All beer is crafted”; 4.5%ABV – 18 IBU)
Mountain Goat – The Naz – A Scotch Ale, it’s malt driven, deep copper in colour with a distinct nuttiness on the finish. Look for dark toffee and earthy spice flavours. Beer for the brave and the brave at heart. Available in specialty beer stores around the country for as long as it lasts (not that long). IBU: 30 Alc/Vol: 6.5% abv
2. Check out the live music and entertainment
Over the two days of Beer Day Out there will be a massive mix of Australian artists to entertain you including Mr Michael the violinist, DJ Kate & Arnott, Mondecreen and roaming artists
3. Take part in beer seminars and masterclasses
We are delighted to have Kirrily Waldhorn, aka The Beer Diva, designing and running all the master classes at this year’s event. Kirrily has spent 15 years working in the beer industry. Sessions include Brewology, Flavour = Taste + Aroma, Malts & Melodies, Hops & Harmonies, Oyster ad Beer Masterclasses, just to name a few
4. Try some of the fantastic food on offer
This year we’ve included a fantastic line up of food both international and local including Sydney Food trucks and our charity partner’s German sausages. Be sure to check out Cantina Movil, Mr Papa, Wapengo Rocks Wild Organic Oysters, Happy as Larry, The Nighthawk Diner, Fruji homemade beer ice-cream, AKIBA and East Street.
5. Get social with friends and family
Great opportunity to catch up with friends, enjoy the days entertainment with music, sensational food and amazing beer and cider and remember to drink responsibly.
