The Queanbeyan Age is reporting here that plans are underfoot for a massive facelift of Crawford Street in Queanbeyan, and I applaud this idea. yes, many of you are probably no doubt aware that Queanbeyan stories solicite giggles from myself that scare many of my colleagues, but this one I believe has significant merit.
In the aforementioned article, Councillor Steve Stavreas says the concept of Queanbeyan becoming the ‘Manuka Village’ or ‘Kingston’ lifestyle centre of the South is not beyond achievement. Good on you Cr Stravreas. It is a bloody famtastic idea, and I think it would do Queanbeyan and the Monaro region a massive favour (including the ACT).
Many people have often lamented that there is a significant untapped potential along Crawford St within earshot of yours truly, and this project seems to have merit.
So Steve Straveas cheers to you.
