Kingston Foreshore burger joint Bad Betti’s is celebrating National Burger Day this Tuesday (28 May) with an epic giveaway of free burgers to the first 150 people through the door.

Formerly a Spanish tapas restaurant, Betti was given a wild new look and style as a burger venue last year. To celebrate its evolution and honour its first National Burger Day since riding solo, Betti has gone bonkers and decided to give away 150 free Caribbean-style burgers to the first burger-loving locals who come to visit her.

After the shock three-month closure of the Carribean-style restaurant Betti Bravo’s in Kingston Foreshore, the venue reopened in November with a divorce party and total rebrand.

Now Caribbean beauty Betti has dropped Mr Juan Bravo’s last name and is now all on her independent, with the transition from fine dining tapas restaurant to wholesome and hearty burgers and cocktails. Along the way, Betti has developed her own mantra – ‘Break hearts and eat burgers’.

Sink your teeth into these Jerk On Buns.

“The Canberra community has shown me constant support since adopting my lifestyle filled with burgers and booze,” Betti said with a smile. “Now it’s time to give back and thank everybody for their support while I went through my big breakup last year.

“It is a new year and a new me and I have the whole joint to myself and the best way to celebrate is with free burgers, of course.”

The first 150 guests can select from Betti’s four bad to the bone burgers including the Sleazy Cheesy, Betti’s Got Beef, Jerk On Buns and Nacho’s Anymore.

Why not try something a little bit Sleazy Cheesy?

From the black bean and charred corn patties topped with American cheese, corn chips, relish, guacamole and sour cream of the vegan Nacho’s Anymore burger to grilled jerk chicken, pickled ginger and cabbage slaw and buttermilk dressing of Jerk On Buns, there is plenty to allure the tastebuds.

Betti said she expects to see a long lineup by the time the giveaway starts at 12 pm, so she warns that if you want to get your hands on one of the free burgers, you better line up early.
