ACT Policing have arrested a 16-year-old boy following two separate police pursuits in Tuggeranong overnight.

Around 12.10am today (Wednesday, February 9), Tuggeranong General Duties members were conducting mobile patrols in Oxley when they saw a Nissan Skyline which had been reported stolen yesterday. Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, and a short pursuit commenced.

Police lost sight of the vehicle, and the pursuit was terminated.

A short time later, a Woden General Duties patrol sighted the vehicle again on Wheeler Crescent in Wanniassa, and a short pursuit commenced when the vehicle failed to stop when directed to by police. The pursuit ended when police lost sight of the vehicle on Summerland Circuit in Kambah.

Around 12.56am, police located the Nissan Skyline abandoned with its engine running at the end of Ortloff Place, Kambah. Police searched the area, and found the young person on foot nearby.
