On Wednesday 7 September, Comedy Club at the Civic will be featuring Jimmy James Eaton, a rising star in Australian standup comedy and improvisation. He’s performed extensively across Australia’s live comedy and theatre industry, the corporate and mining industries, as well as touring overseas to London and Edinburgh. He has also presented for and appeared on ABC TV and Channel V.
Over the short six years of Eaton’s stand up comedy career, he has performed at the Edinburgh, Sydney, Melbourne and WA International Comedy Festivals. He has shared stages with the likes of Will Anderson, Des Bishop, Tripod, The Scared Weird Little Guys, Corrine Grant, Akmal Sali, Dave O’Neil and many more. He’s also collaborated with comedians such as Tim Minchin, Jimeoin, Greg Fleet, Claire Hooper and Tim Ferguson.
Eaton describes his comedy as “surreal skits”, and he uses his amazing voice talent to work character impersonations, such as Yoda and Elmo, into his set along with drum and bass beatboxing and other tricks, making for an engaging performance style.
The night will be hosted by Kale Bogdanovs, and will feature supporting sets from Jay Sullivan, Dom Romeo, The Stevenson Experience, and Frederich Jones.
All tickets $10. Available from www.comedyact.com.au or else take a chance on still being able to get them at the door on the night.
