Noticed something strange. The pay-parking fees for me in Belconnen were to have marched upwards to $9.00 a day (up from $8.00). They’ve increased by a dollar per year each and every year for the 3 I’ve worked in Belco. The stickers went up on the parking meters, telling everyone that fees would increase to $9.00/day as of xx of September. I can’t recall the exact date.
The date came, and the rates stayed at $8.00. I figured that they had just made a mistake, but sure enough, a month or more later, the rates are still at $8.00. I think that the $6.50 parking was to go up to $7.00 or $7.50.
A quick look at the TAMS parking map shows that the rate is indeed still $8.00. The strange thing is that the timestamp on the PDF is 030912 – did something happen on or just before that date that caused TAMS to not update the pricing?
Am I being a cynic by suggesting, as a workmate did, that there is an election on, and parking rates were put on hold until October 21st? Or is it something less dodgy?
Thanks for any help you might be able to offer.
