All publicity is good publicity as the Greens co-opt the Raiders

The ABC has a piece on the Green Senate candidate Lin Hatfield Dodds withdrawing a leaflet featuring the “Green Machine” of the Canberra Raiders and her own party.

Offend, apologise, bask in the attention.

Does it feel as if there’s only one candidate running in this election in the ACT?

i thought it made excellent sense – greens / green machine… but why would the greens support league?

because it makes it look like there is some sort of endorsement.

If the Greens were handing out pamphlets with my ugly mug on one side of them and an ad for their own party on the other side, I would not be particularly happy.

Firstly for the lack of judgement they displayed by thinking it would help their cause, but more importantly, because it would make it look like they had my support.

Their CFMEU sponsorship might have something to do with it.

It does, but so does the ultimate sense of futility. Given that the Greens can not win a Senate seat in the ACT, this is surely being used by Lin “mad as a hatterfield” Dodds to raise her profile before having a tilt at the next Legislative Assembly election. Be scared Shane, be very scared.

She’s the only one providing us with excellent reasons as to why we shouldn’t vote for her.
