Apparently there is a new Slavic lass drawing attention on the world tennis circuit; namely Ana IVANOVIC. Another pretty tennis poppet rocketing up the ranks (she’s currently world #6) is no real surprise nor will it be if she doesn’t stay there long. What I did find odd in the UK Telegraph story was that;
“her new hordes of admirers may be unaware that she won her first major tournament in Canberra as a 17-year-old”.
Now I make no claims to be a tennis guru and so would like someone to explain to me how a Tier IV Tournament that was only held for 6 years under 4 different names and was cancelled this year could be called a “major”.
