I was about to sign up to Transact’s switch to VDSL2 with VOIP but apparently that means relinquishing your home phone option AND your Universal Service Obligation telephone rights. I quite like knowing that my home phone will work when the electricity is down. I notice Foxtel’s bundle appears to offer a “copper” home phone plus broadband plus cable TV. Any advice on Foxtel broadband’s quality would be welcome as I decide whether to relinquish my home phone (my rellos who are on VOIP seem to have their calls drop out all the time).
