It has been called Canberra’s best night of free entertainment.
Poets will POET into a MICROPHONE which will then poet into your ears through TECHNOLOGY.
This month we feature Candy Royalle.
Candy Royalle is a performance artist and poet who fuses cinematic storytelling, poetry and unique vocal rhythms with confronting, political and heart thumping content. In the 10 years since her debut, Royalle?s career has taken her across both the frontiers of poetry, and the world. She?s captivated audiences both nationally and internationally, including Spain, the UK and America. Candy Royalle has been nominated for numerous awards and in 2012 won the “World Poetry Cup” beating 46 other poets for the coveted title and trophy. Her work has been published in numerous anthologies in Australia and internationally. THE BRASS KNUCKLE BRASS BAND is a New Orleans style street funk group from Canberra. BKBB has performed to great acclaim and significant booty-shaking at the 2011 and 2012 Summer Rhythm Festivals, 2011 and 2012 National Folk Festivals and most rooms in Canberra large enough to fit six horns, two percussionists and a singer.
