The CSIRO is letting people know they’ve got an exhibition running about “the textures and patterns of Black Mountain, a small yet diverse area of wilderness in the middle of Canberra City”.
Photographer Michael John Hood has captured this bushland by studying the surfaces and details of the mountain up close with high resolution macro imagery.
These individual textures and patterns visually describe the ecology of the mountain and build an impression of the wilderness.
CSIRO scientists give insightful commentary and describe how their current work is helping to understand the complex nature of the Australian landscape.
