In case you missed it, John Hargreaves has reminded us that we have double demerits in force this weekend.

So if you choose to be silly, don’t say you weren’t warned.

In the NT, those “unlimited roads” are pretty much just the highways. Speed limits in Darwin are similar to Canberra – 80kph on most main roads, 50/60 in the ‘burbs.

That said, I do agree that many of our roads could be upped from 80kph to 100kph safely.

KEEP LEFT UNLESS OVERTAKING!

if you dont plan to overtake, get in the left lane. pious ‘speed limit’ zealots annoy the hell out of me.

But i was doing the limit you say smugly. arbitrary revenue raising mandated ‘limits’ you sheep.

in the NT on the unlimited roads, most people drove at 140km, apart from a few motorcyclists.

with the majestic roads we have in canberra, there is no good reason apart from revenue raising that this nonsensical 80km limit should apply.

im in favour of lassez faire motoring.

see you on the roads in my stanley steamer, wave as you go past.

if only demerits applied to a (typical) fourwheeldrive goon, who dangerously overtook those of us keeping to the speed limit just outside the lodge yesterday by using the bus lane – then once past, stuck out the usual fingered salute. like, who’s the problem here??

What the heck has this to do with double demerit points?

There is a level of admin moderation looking at IP’s.

and if falsification becomes a problem we have the option to lock things down in the future.

Guess not!!

just testing, but is there any user security on here to protect us?
