Owen Campbell is one of Australia’s most talented slide guitar players and songwriters. With his gravelly blend of blues, roots, soul & country – and a striking voice that will grab your attention – Owen sings it sweet and plays it dirty.
Blending melody that’s simple but right, Owen’s gutsy, old time sound marries authenticity with incredible energy. Honest music that tells a story, rich with influences from The Band, Van Morrison, Townes Van Zandt, a little Johnny Cash, and the raspy emotion of Ray Lamontagne, Campbell’s bluesy drawl melded with a soulful slide guitar, beckons his audience to join him in his steamy, swampy, growling world.
Owen has been touring the US with Devon Allman (The Allman Brothers) who also produced Owen’s brand new album ‘Breathing Bullets’, recorded in Memphis (US), with a collection of Memphis session musicians and a wayward Australian drummer. The album was mixed and mastered by Grammy award winning producer Tom Hambridge (Buddy Guy, ZZ Top, BB King).
