Lucid Theatre Co’s debut production, People You May Know, is a passion-project from some of Canberra’s most promising young minds in theatre (if we do say so ourselves). The play explores the current and critical concerns of young people today – friendships, sex, and most importantly – the internet. Interweaving multiple story lines, you get the very best of your Netflix catalogue – think Notting Hill mixed with Knives Out and a healthy dose of My Neighbour Totoro.
This story begins with a party (as most stories do at university). Throughout the night attempts are made to rekindle old friendships, get the latest gossip, and find a worthy hook-up. The group are faced with a devastating crisis the morning after: the internet has stopped. Like, for good.
