Join American cartographic expert Emeritus Professor Dennis Reinhartz as he discusses the exploration and charting of the Americas and the Pacific undertaken by the Spanish from the 15th to the 18th centuries with map collector, curator and author Emeritus Professor Robert Clancy.

About Emeritus Professor Dennis Reinhartz
Dennis Reinhartz is an emeritus professor of history and Russian at The University of Texas at Arlington. In a career of over 40 years, he has also taught at Rutgers, New Jersey Institute of Technology, James Madison University, Bridgewater College, University of London and Oxford University, and holds several teaching awards. He has offered courses in world history, modern European history, Russian and East European history, modern Chinese history, transatlantic discovery and exploration, history of cartography, and historical methodology and theory. He is the author or editor of 14 books and numerous book chapters and scholarly articles related to his fields of interest. He is a past president of The Society for the History of Discoveries, Arid Lands Studies Association, Western Social Science Association, Historical Society of New Mexico, and Texas Map Society.
About Emeritus Professor Robert Clancy
Emeritus Professor Robert Clancy is a clinical immunologist who has undertaken research in mucosal immunology. He was the Foundation Professor of Pathology in the University of Newcastle Medical School. He has a strong involvement in the biotechnology of natural products that maximise mucosal immune competence, protecting against infection, and he maintains a clinic in gastroenterology focused on inflammatory bowel disease. He maintains a strong, longstanding interest in histocartography relating to the discovery and development of Terra Australis, and the history of science and medicine, with a focus on epidemics. He has written 5 books on histocartography and is a regular speaker on maps and has curated exhibitions and written numerous articles on this topic.
