From losing ugly to winning ugly, Brumbies need to step up a couple of gears to make the grand final

That’s been the trend with the Brumbies crowds for yrs. They sit on their hands, in silence, anticipating that the game will return to the ‘good old days’ of the Gregan-Larkham era.

Canberra stadium & the Brumbies seem to cater to one group of people. They contribute nothing to the atmosphere of the game. They even gave way to complaints about playing loud music during the match.

I’m a die hard Brumbies fan but even I’ve struggled to justify paying to see them play at Canberra Stadium. I want to feel like I’m at a sports event. There should be atmosphere, noise, people getting into the game.

If it weren’t for the UC students, it’d be stunned silence for 80mins.

I went to the game and it was very lacklsutre. As an AFL fan first and foremost it did little to compel me to try and better understand Rugby. And could the crowd be polite and at least show a passing interest in the game? Save for the last few minutes you’d hardly be aware there was a crowd there if you couldn’t see them.

Anyway, hope they play better against the Bulls.

That was a brave performance, they just haven’t clicked recently in the creativity stakes. The desire was fabulous though.

Such a poor attendance for a finals game, i know it was cold but it wasn’t freezing….14,000 from a population of 300,000 is pathetic.
How do these Canberra clubs survive, where does the funding come from when they only get half-decent crowds in the warm weather? Will an indoor stadium make all the difference?
