It’s hard to say if the Liberal Party don’t believe in information transparency, or if they just aren’t very competent.
Either way they’ve failed to publish details of the shadow ministry for the coming parliament.
But ACT Senator Gary Humphries has emailed out a media release on his new role:
Serving as the Opposition’s Housing and Multicultural Affairs spokesman over the last 10 months has been very fulfilling and rewarding.
I am looking forward to serving as the Shadow Parliamentary Secretary to the Shadow Attorney-General and Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Materiel on Tony Abbott’s front bench.
As a former Attorney General for the ACT, I have a great deal of experience at a local level on crime prevention and in working to enhance neighbourhood safety.
Similarly I feel honoured to serve within the Defence portfolio to support Australia’s servicemen and women at a time when our troops are on active deployment overseas in a number of theatres.
These roles will supplement my number one role as the chief defender of the ACT community.
“Chief Defender” eh? I don’t recall seeing that on the ballot.
