Google Street View cars hit Canberra again.

I spotted a Google Street View car cruising along Canberra Ave on Friday afternoon. 8 cameras mounted on top of the thing in camera housings. It would have taken some great pics of the front of my car. Plus one of my quick thinking passengers giving it the finger. I would have preffered it if we had come up with a crazy stunt like these people did.

So, grab your diving gear, fake horse heads and other crazy stuff and be on the look out for the Google Street View stunt cars.

It’s not on their website and the car’s design is wrong.
There at least 4 companies I know of doing street level photography in Australia. OP is probably wrong.

And giving a camera the finger, you and your companions should probably grow up.

Okay, so maybe it’s a Where Is car. It had a friggen Google logo on it.

I saw a whereis.com car (4WD) at Maccas Gold Creek on Saturday morning with roof mounted cameras, does this sound like what you saw?.

You should have pulled them up and asked them to drive around the back of each mac1 so you could check online later for your laptop bag

Google states that it’s not driving street view cars anywhere in Australia: http://maps.google.com.au/intl/en/help/maps/streetview/learn/where-is-street-view.html The cars only have a single camera-tower on their roof anyway.

You’re either making stuff up again, or saw a whereis.com car (which do have multiple cameras).

You are trusting GOOGLE? Lawks.

I don’t make stuff up.
Okay, so maybe it’s a Where Is car. It had a friggen Google logo on it. Maybe Google are doing some other project or maybe they’ve not bothered to update their web site. When one sees a car with 8 cameras mounted on the roof and a Google logo on the side, one assumes it is a Google Street View car.
Why the heck would anyone want to make up s*** like this?
