Chief Minister Gallagher is using our entirely urban population to show high performance in children’s health:
ACT Chief Minister and Minister for Health Katy Gallagher, has today welcomed the latest Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) child health and education indicators with ACT children are doing well in a range of areas.
“The latest report from the AIHW demonstrates that ACT is performing very well, and that our children are well ahead in dental health, immunisation rates, healthy birth weights, low teenage birth rates, and that we have low infant mortality and injury related deaths,” the Chief Minister said.
“While there are areas in the report which have highlighted the need for continued focus, it also shows very good results for attendance by children in early education programs, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children,” the Chief Minister said.
