A 23-year-old Evatt man will face court today (10 November) charged with several traffic offences following two accidents yesterday from which he is alleged to have fled.

Police were conducting routine patrols in Bruce when they came across a four-car collision at the intersection of Ginninderra Drive and Aikman Drive at around 2:15 pm yesterday.

Witnesses said a blue Toyota Camry collided with the four vehicles before driving off from the scene.

Emergency services were required to free the driver of one car while a second driver was taken to hospital for assessment.

Then at around 4:35 pm police responded to reports of a single-car collision in Florey where they found the blue Toyota had hit a fence.

The driver once again fled the scene; however, he was apprehended shortly after when police located the man walking along Ennor Close.

The man will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with unlicenced driving; drug driving; not stop and give assistance; failing to stop and give particulars to the other driver after a collision and arrest without warrant for breaching good behaviour obligations.
