Just in time to coincide with the recent announcement and sudden Renaissance in “nouvelle vogue” community consultation, the ACT Ministers are holding a Community Cabinet session in Gungahlin this coming Monday 4th August 2008 (Gungahlin Community Resource Centre, 47 Ernst Cavanagh Street).
Naturally it is occurring at a time that is deliberately awkward for individuals who work, or pick their children up from school. Plus it only runs for an hour so you better practice getting your question down to 25 words or less requiring simple yes/no answer, as you know how the Chief Minister tends to ramble in his responses on Friday mornings ABC 666 “Chief Minister Talk Back”.
Add to that the Chief Minister’s Support and Protocol unit only had the sense to email a copy today stating “The advertisement has appeared in both the Canberra Times and the Chronicle, however you may wish to also promulgate the advertisement through your respective mailing lists.” Great to see they they are giving lots of notice so people can make the appropriate arrangements to get there with RSVP responses due by Friday…
But would you expect anything less from a Government that puts out the details on what needs to be done in terms of revamping community consultation without consulting with those people in the first place.
