Motorbike show in Civic?

Last spring I seem to recall that there was a motorbike festival/show type thingy happening either in Civic or around the lake. Back then I barely took enough notice except to realise it was on (I think), but now that my motorbike-crazy partner has been recently Canberranised, we’d really like to attend this year.*

Can anyone remember whether such a bike-fest really did take place? And if so, whether it will be back this year?

Cheers!

*Actually, he would really like to attend. I will probably just nod and smile and pretend to understand the excitement 😉

There is a German Autofest on Sunday 19 September at the National Library Lawns.
This looks to include BMW bikes – see http://canberravw.com/events/autofest2010.html.

Not sure when the italian motor show is on the lawns near OPH, but plenty of bikes at that

There is a few bike events every year.

The best place to get the goss is from the Motorcycle Riders Association of ACT http://mraact.org.au or at CanberraRIDERS http://canberrariders.org.au

This weekend there is a ride of rememberence to commemorate the lives of fallen riders on the 5th September starting at Old Parliament House at 10:30am for 11:00am departure.

There’s usually a Toy Run before Christmas which gathers the crowds in the City after a ride to donate non-perishable food, toys and cash to be donated to the salvos for those in need at Christmas time and a whole lot of events!

I recall the motorbike and tattoo show in Mawson, but never one in the city (not to say there wasnt) if you find out, let us know!!
