Octoberfest 2010 at EPIC - a brief review

I ended up going to Octoberfest at EPIC because an Austrian friend felt the need to get back in touch with her roots.

$20 gets you in, $16 gets you a stein ($8 for future refills) a belt is required for looping the stein glass through when dancing or urinating, and the obligatory silly hat costs around $20.

Then you’re all set to jump around like an idiot to the band, wave hands and beer glasses (OK plastic) in the air and shout.

It’s a time honoured formula and has not changed in the fundamentals since I was 18.

The video gives a pretty fair impression.

And here’s a picture of me wearing a silly hat. (thanks to Nancy Porker for taking the pic)

You think that’s why they leave town?

No, I figured you giving them that look would make them want to get their freak on.

I think Halloween’s problem is a lack of beer drinking.

Wasn’t somebody complaining it was an excuse for more drinking?

Harmonie Club website indicates different entry fees for different days: $15 on Friday, $20 on Saturday, $10 / kids free on Sunday.

In the spirit of the Halloween thread:
GARRR!!!! WE AREN’T GERMANY GO BACK TO GERMANY! CHECK OUT MY SOUTHERN CROSS STICKER!
THIS.
IS.
AUSTRALIA!!!!

ARRGGHHH!!!!

Makes just as much sense…

I think Halloween’s problem is a lack of beer drinking.

I paid $15 to get in and $5 for the stein… though you had to join the German club for that.

How much was that?

You think that’s why they leave town?
