Paperless Ambos

We’ve been promised the paperless office for so long, and now it looks like the Ambos may achieve it if they cannot come to an agreement with the ACT govt according to this story.

They’re threatening to refuse to do paperwork so that patients are treated for free if an agreement cannot be reached. Its nice that they aren’t threatening to strike (they may not be allowed to??).

This is something I’ve had a little bit of experience with – and they have a point.

The increase in paperwork liability which has been accepted by everybody else is not only just red-tape, but for every form that is being filled out, is taking from treating patients time.

Place this into an over-worked, under-staffed environment, and you can see why they are telling them to stick it up their proverbials. I just wish everybody else had the guts to follow their lead.

Yeah, microchipping would be better – you could even have them added while having a boob job or penis enlargement procedure performed!

Interestingly enough, California has just passed a law prohibiting employers from forcing employees to get these RFID chips (used largely for tracking purposes) surgically implanted.

Barcodes? That’s so last century – even somewhat naziesque!

Microchips with built in body sensors would be the way to go – then we could use them for everything (medical info, personal info, cash transactions).

If we all had a Govt issued barcode tattooed on our left forearm at birth, all the Ambos would have do is scan the barcode – then the appropriate bill would automatically be sent to your home address for payment.

It’s that easy!

In NSW, there is a risk the Ambos will strike during APEC. Not sure if this has been resolved yet? Not sure about whether they’re allowed to. However unthinkable it is, I don’t think it’s illegal or anything.
