Police arrest man after act of indecency at uni residence

Police have arrested and charged a man who allegedly committed an act of indecency on a female student at a university residence on Saturday morning (28 September).

Police allege a 38-year-old man committed the act of indecency around 6:30 am and then stole several items from her residence. The man then allegedly attempted to use a credit card stolen from the victim later that day.

On Sunday, police found the man in Curtin in an alleged stolen motor vehicle and in possession of a substance believed to be methylamphetamine. He was arrested and subsequent searches located numerous stolen items.

The Curtin man was charged with committing an act of indecency without consent, driving a motor vehicle without consent, unlicensed driving, burglary, theft and drug possession.

He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today on 10 charges where police will oppose bail.
