ACT Policing will have a highly visible presence throughout the Centenary Day celebrations to ensure a trouble-free long weekend.

Superintendent Brett Kidner said ACT Policing will be working closely with event organisers and security throughout the long weekend to ensure everyone has a good time.

“One of our priorities is to ensure that families attending Centenary Day celebrations will not be subjected to anti-social behaviour,” Superintendent Kidner said.

‘‘We encourage people to come along and enjoy the weekend of festivities but be warned public safety will be our main focus.’’

‘‘We’re asking people to be sensible, be responsible and look after each other. We don’t want what is meant to be an enjoyable long weekend spoilt by loutish behaviour.”

ACT Policing is also urging motorists to drive safely over the Centenary Day long weekend with extra patrols on the road.
